For-Shore Weed Control Inc. provides a variety of services to improve the aesthetic and environmental conditions of residential and commercial properties as well as in natural habitats. We are one component of a seasonal property maintenance program and can greatly reduce the labor, inputs, and costs that conventional landscaping services incur.

By signing up for our services you understand and agree to the following:

Treatable areas: We are licensed to treat exterior, terrestrial landscapes. We will not make any applications outside the boundaries of our licenses, or that would risk collateral damage to natural habitats, wildlife, or neighboring properties.

Weed Control Services

1.     Pricing:

Full Season Weed Control

You will be billed 1 time, after the first application, for a seasonal contract that corresponds with the growing season: approximately March – October. The balance for each season is due October 31st of that year.

Pricing is based primarily on square footage but can be increased for complexity. Complex jobs include elaborate garden beds with dense annual or perennial plantings, invasive or noxious vine control, bamboo control, and phragmites management.

If you change the treatable area over the course of the season we can adjust the price accordingly. We can absorb small increases (up to 250 square feet) to your treatable area without adjusting your annual cost. Removing areas that we have already treated will only reduce your seasonal cost by 10-20% of the change in square footage.

We understand that you may need to cancel service due to the sale of a home or other life changes. If we have completed your first application and you cancel service before April 1st, or within 2 weeks of your initial treatment, you will receive a refund of 40% of the total cost. Outside that window, we will refund 20% of the total cost after 1 application and 10% after 2 applications. This may seem punitive, but vast majority of the material and time expense occurs during the first visit.

In mid-August we begin offering a 25% discount for an abbreviated, late season program. This includes 2 scheduled visits and no service calls.

Premier Weed Control

Premier Weed Control pricing matches Full Season Weed Control, with an additional fee to account for the extra scheduled visits.

Invasive/Noxious Weed Management, Commercial & Industrial Weed Control

Industrial jobs and special jobs to control Poison Ivy, Bamboo, and invasive vines are priced based on the size of the infestation, the complexity of the job and the risk to the technicians. We will include necessary follow up visits in any quote to guarantee long-term control.

2.     Payments:

We accept cash, checks, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and Discover), and online bank payments.

We can are happy to accept payment at any time that is convenient for our customers within each season: at the time of activation, at the time of billing (after the first visit), in installments corresponding to each visit, monthly installments, or at the end of the season.

Late payments may be sent to a collection agency beginning December 1st.

Customers who are late to pay in 3 out of 5 seasons will be required to prepay and assessed a $30.00 surcharge.

Customers who reach Collection Tier II will be required to prepay in full for the following season.

3.     Application Schedule:

When you enroll in our Full Season Weed or Premier Weed Control programs, we schedule an initial application of a mixture of pre- and post-emergent herbicides to the entire treatable area of your property.

We strive for same- or next-day service whenever possible, but in April and May new signups are fit into our existing routes and there can be a wait of up to 4 weeks for an initial application.

Full Season Weed Control

Depending on when you enroll, we will schedule 1-3 follow-up applications 45-60 days apart. During these visits we spot spray emerged weeds that have broken through the preemergent barrier. We may, at our discretion, reapply a preemergent to a specific area if there is unsatisfactory control from the first application due to soil disturbances or other environmental factors.

Premier Weed Control

Following your first application we will schedule visits to your property approximately every 21-28 days. During these visits we will spot spray emerged weeds that have broken through the preemergent barrier. We may, at our discretion, reapply a preemergent to a specific area if there is unsatisfactory control from the first application due to soil disturbances or other environmental factors.

Invasive Weed Control & Commercial Weed Control

We schedule services to maximize the effectiveness of the applications.

4.     Service Calls:

We strongly encourage our customers to use unlimited free service calls at their discretion.

Non-discounted Full Season Weed Control and Premier Weed Control, and Commercial Weed Control customers are entitled to unlimited free service calls between scheduled visits. We may request that you wait 10-14 days after the initial application and 3-5 days after follow up visits before returning to the property. This will allow the previous application to fully take effect and avoid unnecessary pesticide use.

5.     Call Ahead Requests

We can contact you the day before a scheduled application to inform you that we will be treating your property, and may be able to provide a general time window (morning or afternoon). Requesting a call ahead can delay your service by 1-3 days. Residential customers who require that we meet them at their property for each scheduled visit will incur a one-time $30.00 surcharge.

6.     Guarantee

The products and application techniques we use are carefully designed to prevent a wide variety of weed seeds from germinating, and to kill and suppress the growth of existing annual and perennial weeds without harming desirable landscape plants, our applicators, our customers, or the environment.

We do not use herbicides that guarantee a weed-free property. In order to truly eradicate weeds from a landscape we would have to apply toxic products that would kill every plant, some animals, and have a lasting effect on the environment.

Changes in the weather, the products we use, and the way you use your property can affect the success of the preemergent. We schedule follow up applications and encourage the use free service calls to accommodate these changes.

We strive to accommodate changes in the needs and expectations from client to client, however we cannot accommodate the following situations:

·      If you wait until after October 31st to bring a service issue to our attention.

·      If you hold us responsible for damage to plants or your property in the face of clear, 3rd party, evidence to the contrary.

In these and similar situations we may, at our discretion, issue a refund or not hold you responsible for your bill, but we will discontinue all future services. We will issue refunds during the season if you are unhappy with your service due to miscommunication, service delays, or damage to plants due to applicator error.

Lawn Care

1.     Pricing:

Lawn Care Services are priced based on the size of the treatable area on your property.

We offer add on services such as Aeration, Seeding, Lime, and Lawn Renovations at an extra cost.

We can manage the majority of weed issues that may appear in a lawn within the standard Lawn Care Program. This includes crabgrass, nutsedge, and kyllinga, as well as any common broadleaf weeds that may appear. Certain infestations may require different management strategies at an additional cost such as: Lawn Renovation, which is generally a kill-off of some or all of the lawn and reseeding, and specialty herbicides that treat specific, uncommon weeds. We do our best to identify these problems during the initial visit to avoid adding costs throughout the season.

2.     Payments

We accept cash, checks, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and Discover), and online bank payments.

Our 6 step Lawn Care and Lawn Disease Control Programs are billed on a per-application basis. We request payment within 30 days of each application. Services will be interrupted if you carry a balance over $100.00 for greater than 60 days.

We request all end-of-season lawn services be paid for by the end of the calendar year.

Chronic late payers will be required to prepay for all services.

3.     Application Schedule

Comprehensive Lawn Care Program

A full season of Lawn Care includes 6 applications between March and November, approximately 4-6 weeks apart. All applications include a seasonally-appropriate type of fertilizer applied at a correct rate for the growing conditions and complying with NJ Fertilizer Law A2290.

Spring applications include pre- and post-emergent herbicides to prevent crabgrass from germinating throughout the season and control broadleaf weeds before they infest a lawn. If we cannot include both spring applications, we cannot guarantee crabgrass control.

Summer applications address weed and insect problems and are used to identify watering issues and serious disease problems that may require intervention.

Fall applications address any weed breakthroughs, promote root growth, and help the lawn repair any heat or drought damage that may have occurred over the summer.

Lawn Disease Control

We apply 3 applications of fungicides in the late spring and early summer to suppress harmful diseases in your turf. These take place about 4 weeks apart and are scheduled around growing degree days and when fungi start to grow.

Additional Services

We schedule all seeding services for the end of the growing season. Usually between August 15th and October 15th, weather permitting.

Lime applications are scheduled between September 1st and December 1st, but can be completed throughout the season.

4.     Service Calls

Customers enrolled in a complete Comprehensive Lawn Care Program will are not charged for service calls. There may be situations where we recommend additional treatments, but we are able to address the vast majority of the problems a lawn may encounter over the growing season at no additional cost.

We will generally not charge for a site visit to a customer who has enrolled in an abbreviated Lawn Care Program, but we may, at our discretion, bill for an application that occurs during that visit.

5.     Call Ahead Requests

We can contact you the day before a scheduled application to inform you that we will be treating your property, and may be able to provide a general time window (morning or afternoon). 6.     Guarantee

Our Lawn Care services are designed to anticipate any adverse conditions your lawn may face throughout the growing season. We cannot plan for every situation, but we will do our best to work with you to make sure that any issues are quickly treated and your lawn looks healthy throughout the growing season. We are responsible for the nutrient and pesticide inputs on your lawn, but we will make recommendations about mowing height and watering to improve your outcomes.

Many factors can affect seeding applications including watering, temperature, site disturbance, and other abiotic environmental factors. We are happy to follow up on fall seeding applications the following spring and spot seed areas as needed. This can be done in conjunction with crabgrass suppression on a case-by-case basis, but we establish new grass once a preemergent has been applied.

If you do not follow our watering recommendations we do not guarantee the success of any applications.

If you are unhappy with your lawn service and wish to cancel we will refund you the cost of the most recent application. If you hire a new company that season we will inform them of our applications so far that season to make sure your lawn does not receive excess fertilizer or pesticides.
